Title: “Engineering Skills Supply and the Gender Challenge”
Abstract: The combination of an increasingly technological society and demographic reality means that Texas, like many states and countries worldwide, is facing an engineering skills shortage. Therefore, a diverse and inclusive approach is taken in education and training to ensure that the maximum quality and quantity of talent is being developed. This talk will explore what we know about the engineering skills needs and, specifically, what we might do about increased female participation to ensure we stand the best chance of them being met.
