Explore our VIP Teams

We have six (6) current projects that are accepting new students. Students may apply to join a VIP team using the “Submit Application” link.

When a student is accepted to a VIP team, they will receive enrollment instructions from the VIP coordinator. If you need help, email the VIP staff at engineering-vip@tamu.edu.

Human Behavior Recognition

TAGS: Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Human-Computer Interfaces

The Sketch Recognition Lab (SRL) is developing new AI systems to detect activities of daily living with smartwatches, phones, and other sensors.  The project hopes to solve real-life problems for disabled people and the elderly, using the power of machine-learning and the technology we already use every day.

The Art of Engineering

TAGS: Art and Humanities, Computing, Innovation

The Art and Engineering Collaboration Lab (AECL) uses art, humanities, communications, and social sciences to inform novel approaches to engineering. The project brings together experts from multiple schools to bridge the fields of study.
