NSF’s Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) identifies and supports outstanding graduate students who are pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees in fields within NSF’s mission. The GRFP provides up to three years of support for the graduate education of those students who have demonstrated their potential for substantial accomplishments in science and engineering research. The GRFP supports over 100 subfields.
The NSF GRFP is a highly competitive fellowship award, and from over 13,000 applicants only 1600 students were selected this year. Awardees were selected from among a wide range of scientific disciplines and come from all states, U.S. commonwealths and territories. The GRFP encourages applications from underrepresented groups, including women, minorities, persons with disabilities, and veterans, in order to broaden and diversify those participating in science and engineering.
The 2021 awardees include 19 students with Texas A&M University as their baccalaureate institution or their current institution.
