The Sketch Recognition Lab at Texas A&M University, led by Professor Hammond and Deputy Lab Director Paul Taele, expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to reconnect with everyone at the recent LAUNCH ceremony event. The event served as a platform to recognize and appreciate the remarkable work accomplished through LAUNCH: Undergraduate Research, a program that plays a crucial role in promoting, coordinating, creating, and assessing undergraduate research programs across all academic disciplines at Texas A&M.

Undergraduate research serves as a testament to the university’s commitment to providing students with opportunities for creative scholarship, inquiry, and research. It aligns with the principles of Aggies’ Commit to Learning for a Lifetime, the university’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) that emphasizes high-impact practices.

LAUNCH: Undergraduate Research serves as a catalyst for students to engage in meaningful research experiences, fostering their intellectual growth and preparing them for future endeavors. By involving undergraduates in research projects, Texas A&M provides a platform for students to explore their passions, develop critical thinking skills, and contribute to innovative solutions in their respective fields.

The LAUNCH ceremony event was an inspiring occasion, where faculty, staff, and students came together to celebrate the achievements of undergraduate researchers and acknowledge their valuable contributions to their disciplines. The event highlighted the collaborative spirit that permeates the university, fostering an environment of mentorship and support for budding scholars.

As Texas A&M continues to champion undergraduate research and its integration into the academic landscape, LAUNCH plays an instrumental role in nurturing the next generation of scholars and innovators. By empowering students to pursue their research interests, the university contributes to the growth of knowledge and the development of well-rounded individuals who are prepared to make a positive impact in their fields and beyond.

Congratulations to all the participants and organizers of LAUNCH: Undergraduate Research for their dedication and commitment to fostering a culture of research and inquiry at Texas A&M University. May the program continue to inspire and empower students to embark on transformative research journeys that shape their academic and professional trajectories.
