
Drew Casey was recently hired as the Assistant Director of the Institute for Engineering Education & Innovation (IEEI) at Texas A&M University.
In this newly created role, Casey will assist in overseeing the coordination and administration of ongoing programs, including planning, organizing, staffing, and training. He will also initiate, develop and manage comprehensive activities and programs for the recruitment, retention, and success of the Institute.
Together with Dr. Tracy Hammond, Director of the Institute, Casey will collaborate on the same goals of creating, synthesizing, and disseminating research to create transformative and inclusive engineering learning environments.
Casey has over eight years of experience in higher education. He was previously a program coordinator for Texas Sea Grant and a communications professor for the Renmin University of China and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. In addition to research proposals and project coordination, he has a variety of experience with report writing, policy development, and budget oversight.
Casey holds a Bachelor’s degree in Technical and Scientific Communication from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master’s degree in Asian Studies, focusing on East-Asian security and technology issues, from Florida State University.
