The Institute for Engineering Education & Innovation (IEEI) is proud to announce the first workshop for Capstone & Undergraduate Research Experiences in Engineering (CUREE) at Texas A&M University. The workshop will take place on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at the Chevron Studios in the Zachry Engineering Education Complex in College Station, Texas.
The CUREE workshop is a full-day event designed to provide a platform for faculty and staff to share ideas about improving research experiences, capstone projects, and other high-impact practices for undergraduate engineering students. The workshop will feature discussions, networks, presentations, and brainstorming for participants to share their experiences and ideas.
The CUREE workshop will cover two main topics: capstone projects and undergraduate research experiences. Capstone projects are multifaceted design projects that synergize a senior student’s academic and intellectual experience in a real-world setting prior to graduation. Undergraduate research experiences, on the other hand, are research projects that are led by or actively engage undergraduate students to introduce them to real-world scientific investigations.
The CUREE workshop aims to bring together a community of educators, researchers, and practitioners who are passionate about transforming undergraduate engineering education. By sharing best practices, innovative pedagogical approaches, and cutting-edge research findings, participants will gain valuable insights into how to enhance the research experiences and capstone projects of their undergraduate engineering students.
