The Texas A&M University College of Engineering has appointed Dr. Jean-Francois Chamberland as the associate dean for faculty success. Dr. Chamberland joined Texas A&M in 2004 as a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Previously, he served as an associate department head.
In addition to statistical inference and information theory, his professional interests include communication systems and networks, learning, and education.
The National Science Foundation recognized his work with a Faculty Early Career Development Award, and the National Academy of Engineering invited him to present educational innovations at a Frontiers of Engineering Education workshop. In addition to serving as an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, he is also a senior area editor for the IEEE Open Journal of Signal Processing.
The IEEE Signal Processing Society has recognized Dr. Chamberland’s contributions with the IEEE Young Author Best Paper Award.
